Format & Scoring

Team Format: 2-Person Best Ball (Net). Both players play their own ball; the lowest net score on each hole counts for the team.

Competition: Overall lowest 18-hole team net score wins.

Nine-Hole Shuffle: At the turn, each two-person team will be paired with a new twosome. (Teams remain intact for all 18 holes.)

Ties: Scorecard playoff by men’s stroke index (#1 handicap hole first, then #2, #3, etc.) until one team is lower.

Start & Pairings

Shotgun Start (6 groups): 2 groups on Hole 1, 2 on 17, 2 on 18.

Pairings: Announced morning of the event. Assigned first by Money Game participation, then by submitted handicap.

Tees & Handicaps

Handicap Range: Approx. 0–30 (honor system).

Tees:

0–10 → Tips
11–30 → Standard Men’s

Net Strokes: Posted by organizers before tee-off.

Registration & Eligibility

Registration Window: Aug 27 – Sept 18 (online form only).

Teams: Assigned by organizers (partner requests welcome).

Money Game: Optional; must be marked “Yes” and paid at registration to be eligible for payout.

Money Game (Optional)

Amount: $20 per player.

Pay To: Venmo @scotthoagfl

Prize Pool: Sum of all Money Game entries.

On-Course Contests: 25% of prize pool → 4 contests (6.25% each): 2× Long Drive, 2× Closest to Pin.
Top-3 Overall Net Payouts: 75% of prize pool split:
- 1st = 37.5%
- 2nd = 25%
- 3rd = 12.5%
Note: Percentages fixed; payout amounts scale with participation.

On-Course Rules & Pace of Play

Rules of Golf (USGA) apply unless otherwise noted.

Putting: No gimmes, no concessions. All putts must be holed out.

Lost Ball / Out of Bounds (OB):

Lost = not found within 3 minutes.
OB = beyond white stakes/lines/fence (outside is out, even if touching).
Procedure (Stroke + Distance): Add one penalty stroke and replay from previous spot. From tee = re-tee (hitting 3). From fairway/rough = drop near last spot, add one, play.
Provisional: If a shot might be lost/OB, announce and hit a provisional before leaving the tee. If original is in play, pick up provisional. If lost/OB, the provisional becomes the ball in play with one penalty.
Penalty Areas: Red/yellow stakes are not OB; take relief per local rules (+1 stroke).

Max Score: Double par per hole to maintain pace (pick up if reached).

Ready Golf: Play when safe; keep pace with the group ahead.

Turn Transition: Shuffle should be quick; target < 10 minutes for the front team while the paired group completes its 9th. Starters/marshals may adjust order to prevent delays.

Scorekeeping

Cards: One official scorecard (plus a backup). Record gross for each player; scorer will apply net from posted strokes. Verify/sign at the turn and at finish.

Verification: Teams sign cards at the turn and again at finish.

Conduct & Safety

Respect fellow players, staff, and course property. Follow cart and local rules.

Weather delays follow club guidance; organizers will announce next steps.

Communications, Photos & Media

Emails: Players will receive event updates via email/text message.

Day-Of Updates: Provided at check-in and on the first tee.

Photography & Media: By attending, you consent to photos/video being used in recaps and future promotions. If you prefer not to be photographed, notify check-in or a host.
